DUDEBOX LAUNCH PARTY!

Had an amazing time at the launch of a new Vinyl toy company Dudebox in London. There was an amazing energy at the event which featured live art battles from the legend Pete Fowler and also a showcase of toys which I had the pleasure of producing. Also free sushi and bar which sealed the deal for me!

BALLIN!

Expanding my illustrations to character design and type as those of you who follow my work may have noticed recently. Creating images is a constant passion of mine and as of late Ive felt really stagnant and feel like the images I am being asked to create seem to be the same kind over and over again. Not that this is a bad thing but I constantly want to diversify my work and this is done through experimentation, trial and error. Hopefully this will lead onto something else. See the full image as well as other experimental illustrations HERE!

ILLUSTRATED TYPE

Recently I have been playing around with illustrated type, I have always had a fascination for letterforms and type stemming from my love of graffiti most probably. I want to create more work with type and incorporate it more commercially and hopefully you'll be seeing more type work from me! To keep up with more of my experiments click HERE

CHINA - JOURNEY TO THE EAST

I was recently invited to work alongside Sheffield based creative agency The Cafeteria to create the lead illustrations for the exhibition titled "CHINA - Journey to the east."

This touring exhibition by the British Museum is one of a number of exhibitions promoting the understanding between various cultures. It is also part of the Partnership UK programme supported by BP and the China Now legacy project.

The primary illustration of the Dragon sits on all the promotional and marketing  material from the posters to the banners and is the main indent for the exhibition.

The gallery space is divided into five separate areas each delving into the rich past of China's heritage and thousands of years of innovation.

Separate icons were illustrated to distinguish these areas which will be hung as banners indicating the key attributes of China's history which is being explored. These areas include "Language and Writing," "Food and Drink," "Play and Performance," "Festivals and Beliefs" and finally "Technology and Innovation."

The Exhibition is currently at the Weston Park Museum in Sheffield and will run from Dec 17th 2011 - April 9th 2012. For more information and details of the accompanying events programme please visit www.museums-sheffield.org.uk
